Band Practices

Hi batch,
On Tuesday, the sec 3s and 4s had band prac with Mr Oura. I was there for the later half and I heard M.O saying this to the band:
We have to take things more seriously. We need to have a more positive attitude, not only in our playing, but also towards our environment (Cleanliness of bandroom).
We not only have to take M.O's band prac seroiusly, but also the SC pracs. As you all know, we are currently preparing for Open House, this is a rare chance for us to perform as a band, so we have to do our best and show all the P6s and parents what we are capable of. It has to be of 100% effort.
If you do not usually pay attention during SC pracs, then it is impossible to give your 100% best on that day.
M.O also said that he does not know how to make us improve from our current standard if we persist in our ways. Basic things like playing notes to full value and breathing in enough air, we have to get these right from the very start. We have learnt this since Sec 1s as recruits and yet we are not disciplined enough to do all these.
If we cannot even get these basic elements correct, how are we going to be capable of playing the more complex songs?
I'm sorry I can't remember the rest but these are the most crucial things that M.O said to us. Please reflect and think what we should do next. What is the best way for us to improve?
Lovu,
May
